To provide programs and a facility for the health and well-being of animals, including prevention of cruelty to animals and the treatment or cure of diseased or injured animals so they can be adopted by loving families in responsible homes.
Happy Paws additionally serves Checotah and surrounding communities through animal transportation. We assist in transporting homeless animals from community shelters that don’t have space to properly care for the animals. We’ve had the opportunity to transport over 8,000 animals since 2014, and it is our goal to get as many animals as possible transported into the loving and caring homes they deserve.
Happy Paws is able to serve surrounding counties and neighboring animal shelters in Oklahoma through the Spay Center, a separate building designed specifically to meet the need of spay and neutering services. Spay/Neuter days happen on a weekly basis, with 80-plus animals seen on those days. In its first four years, the Spay Center has treated over 14,000 animals.
